Artificial names for New Roles in the Document Type Role

Proposal for common role naming

The proposal is to reduce random or client/customer specific artificial numbering and naming of roles ( document type Role ).

In the follwing illustration (1) we have an overview of customized Roles. They have a naming scheme of e.g. "00181 Einkauf". In common this can be formed to "\d\d\d\d\d Subject". In addition we have ( not marked in the picture ) a set of default ERPNext roles.

Suggestion

In order to stop wild growth a little bit at a time I suggest to use the following scheme for roles @ all customers:

\d\d\d Doctypename { crudpies }

E.g. for the Documents of type Quotation in the Module Selling we want to have the role checkbox for Users to Create and Update Quotations. This role position would be named:

Working examples:

(a) 011 Quotation CU  :: Create and Update Quotations

(b) 002 Asset PI :: Print and Import Assets

(c) 004 Material Request CS :: Create and  Submit Material Requests

Legende:

The numbers are being assigned per module. Module Accounting has the number

  • 001 Module Accounting (1)
  • 002 Module Assets (2)
